Other Archaeological Sites / The Neolithic of the Levant (500 Page Book Online) Canaanite Tell Yaqush Yaqush is an Early Bronze Age (Circa 3000 - 2300 BC) village site. It is located in Israel on the western side of the [North] Jordan River [Valley] near a major ford. It was an important settlement on the north-south thoroughfare that linked the ancient land of Canaan with Syria. Excavation has uncovered the remains of four successive settlements dating to the Early Bronze I - II - III Periods and also highlight the impact of urban growth on the social and economic fabric of this rural village community. The site was approximately 2.5 hectares in size during the EB I Period. By the EB III Period the village had declined in area to roughly 0.50 to 0.75 hectares ...
