As in the Kebaran some Natufian sites show extremely high percentages of a specific animal suggesting that it was herded. Yet elsewhere for example at Ain Mallaha -- while gazelle reached 44 per cent -- roe deer, fallow deer and boar accounted for 15 per cent each. Some gazelle herding may have been practiced here but it is also possible that all animals were hunted; gazelle being the favoured quarry.
