Ancient Egyptian Arminna West

Arminna West was an archaeological site in Egyptian Lower Nubia which was occupied from the Late Meroitic Period (circa 150-200 AD) to the Classic Christian Period (circa 1100 AD). Arminna West is a short distance north of the famous site of Abu Simbel. During the building of the Aswan Dam parts of this site and the neighbouring Toshka were excavated by the joint expedition of Yale and the University of Pennsylvania (1961-1963) under the direction of William Kelley Simpson.
